Although it might seem more normal to see the Addams Family celebrate Halloween, the original series did have a Christmas episode. When a neighbor tells the children that Santa Claus isn’t real, several members of the family try to convince the children that he’s real.

The Addams Family was a 1964-1966 ABC TV sitcom series based on the characters in Charles Addams’ cartoons from The New Yorker magazine. “Christmas with the Addams Family,” episode 2.15 from the original series, first aired 24 December 1965. This story was remade for The New Addams Family, which ran 1998-1999 on TV.

Created by cartoonist Charles Addams in 1938, they started out as a series of one-panel cartoons, published in The New Yorker over a 50-year period. They have since been adapted to other media, including more than one television series, numerous films, video games, a stage musical, and more.
