“Highly enjoyable sequel. While it doesn’t quite have the magic or significance of the first book, this is still a very well written, highly engaging read. Definitely recommended, and I will be continuing the series!” (The Book Smugglers)

“A good story, we had some great character development and some more insight into a steadily growing and expanding world. It’s left me more interested, more intrigued and the characters feeling much more human and real. A good installment in the series and worth a read.” (Fangs for the Fantasy)

“It’s pretty good when you think OK, this is my favorite book of the series so far, then you read the next book and think OK, this one is my favorite book of the series so far! There was a lot going on in this one, but in a good way. There was a good mix of interesting plot twists, action (lots of it!), character development, and intrigue, with a bit of relationship drama thrown in. In the end I was quite satisfied with this installment. (Janicu)
5 Kitty and the Dead Man’s Hand (Kitty Norville Book 5)
Werewolf Kitty Norville and her mate Ben face-off against werewolf-hating bounty hunters—on their honeymoon, no less—in this suspenseful follow-up to Kitty and the Silver Bullet.
Already the alpha pair of Denver’s werewolf pack, Kitty and Ben are planning to tie the knot human-style by eloping to Vegas. Kitty is looking forward to sipping fru-fru drinks by the pool and doing her popular radio show on live TV—but her hotel is stocked with werewolf-hating bounty hunters.
Elsewhere on the Strip, an old-school magician might be wielding the real thing; the vampire community is harboring a dark secret; and the irresistible star of a suspicious animal act is determined to seduce Kitty.
Sin City has never been so wild, and this werewolf has never had to fight harder to save not only her wedding, but her very life.

“For the past few days, I have had the immense privilege of being able to read and enjoy the Kitty Norville series back-to-back. This is the first book in the series that ends in a real cliffhanger. Let me say, I was thrilled that I had the sixth one waiting when I finished! So, long story short, these books have really made me wonder why I don’t read more urban fantasy.” (Medieval Bookworm)
6 Kitty Raises Hell (Kitty Norville Book 6)
Werewolf Kitty Norville returns in this action-packed story of paranormal investigations, full moons, curses, and cults—sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas.
Kitty and Ben flee The City That Never Sleeps, thinking they are finished with the dangers there—but the sadistic cult of lycanthropes, led by a vampire priestess, has cursed Kitty in retaliation for the disruption of its rituals.
She enlists the help of a group of TV paranormal investigators—one of whom has real psychic abilities—to help her get to the bottom of the curse laid on her. Rick, the Master vampire of Denver, believes a deeper plot lies behind the curse, and he and Kitty argue about whether or not to accept the help of a professional demon hunter—and vampire—named Roman, who arrives a little too conveniently in the nick of time.
Unable to rely on Rick, and unwilling to accept Roman's offer of help for a price, Kitty and her band of allies, including Vegas magician Odysseus Grant and Kitty’s own radio audience, mount a trap for the supernatural being behind the curse, a destructive force summoned by the vengeful cult, a supernatural being that none of them ever thought to face.

Review:
“This is a fairly straightforward entry in the series, presenting Kitty with a well-defined challenge she needs to meet if she is to survive. It also adds to the largescale conflict the books would seem to have been setting up, but without undermining the book’s ability to stand on its own.” (James Nicoll Reviews)
7 Kitty’s House of Horrors (Kitty Norville Book 7)
In this fast-paced monster mash-up, creatures of the night face the fight of their lives when they square off against one another on TV’s first all-supernatural reality show.
Talk radio host and werewolf Kitty Norville is expecting cheesy competitions and manufactured drama starring shapeshifters, vampires, and psychics when she signs on for TV’s first all-supernatural reality show. But as soon as filming starts, violence erupts, and Kitty suspects that the show is a cover for a far more nefarious plot.
When the cameras stop rolling, cast members start dying, and Kitty realizes that she and her monster housemates are (ironically) the ultimate prize in a very different game. Stranded with no power, no phones, and no way to know who can be trusted, she must find a way to defeat the evil closing in—before it kills them all…

“The book was fast-paced and super easy to read. Vaughn’s writing style is just so readable and personable; reading the book is such a fun pleasure. The only bad thing about this book was that it was over too soon. I can’t wait to read the next book!” (Hidden in Pages)
8 Kitty Goes to War (Kitty Norville Book 8)
Kitty Norville, Alpha werewolf and host of The Midnight Hour, a radio call-in show, is contacted by a friend at the NIH’s Center for the Study of Paranatural Biology. Three Army soldiers recently returned from the war in Afghanistan are being held at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs. They’re killer werewolves—and post traumatic stress has left them unable to control their shape-shifting and unable to interact with people.
Kitty agrees to see them, hoping to help by bringing them into her pack.
Meanwhile, Kitty gets sued for libel by CEO Harold Franklin after featuring Speedy Mart—his nationwide chain of 24-hour convenience stores with a reputation for attracting supernatural unpleasantness—on her show.
Very bad weather is on the horizon.

“The Kitty Norville series is both consistent and surprising. Carrie Vaughn does a good job of giving the Kitty series a unique feeling among the sea of urban fantasies available. For one, the series remains light-hearted despite the high body count.” (The Good, The Bad, and the Unread)
9 Kitty’s Big Trouble (Kitty Norville Book 9)
Kitty Norville is back and in more trouble than ever. Her recent run-in with werewolves traumatized by the horrors of war has made her start wondering how long the US government might have been covertly using werewolves in combat. Have any famous names in our own history might have actually been supernatural?
She’s got suspicions about William Tecumseh Sherman. Then an interview with the right vampire puts her on the trail of Wyatt Earp, vampire hunter.
But her investigations lead her to a clue about enigmatic vampire Roman and the mysterious Long Game played by vampires through the millennia.
That, plus a call for help from a powerful vampire ally in San Francisco, suddenly puts Kitty and her friends on the supernatural chessboard, pieces in dangerously active play. And Kitty Norville is never content to be a pawn…

“Something happens, and Kitty is given a new responsibility that’s bigger than ever. Sure KITTY’S BIG TROUBLE is a good, consistent addition to the series, but in a lot of ways it’s really a segue of what Vaughn promises will follow. And Kitty doesn’t disappoint.” (Elitist Book Reviews)
10 Kitty Steals the Show (Kitty Norville Book 10)
Kitty has been tapped as the keynote speaker for the First International Conference on Paranatural Studies, taking place in London. The conference brings together scientists, activists, protestors, and supernatural beings from all over the world—and Kitty, Ben, and Cormac are right in the middle of it.
Master vampires from dozens of cities have also gathered in London for a conference of their own. With the help of the Master of London, Kitty gets more of a glimpse into the Long Game—a power struggle among vampires that has been going on for centuries—than she ever has before.

13 Low Midnight (Kitty Norville Book 13)
Cormac, the Kitty Norville series’ most popular supporting character, stars in his first solo adventure.
Carrie Vaughn’s Low Midnight spins out of the series on the wave of popularity surrounding Kitty’s most popular supporting character, Cormac Bennett, a two-minded assassin of the paranormal who specializes in killing lycanthropes.
In his first solo adventure, Cormac, struggling with a foreign consciousness trapped inside him, investigates a century-old crime in a Colorado mining town which could be the key to translating a mysterious coded diary—a tome with secrets that could shatter Kitty’s world and all who inhabit it.
With a framing sequence that features Kitty Norville herself, Low Midnight not only pushes the Kitty saga forward, but also illuminates Cormac's past and lays the groundwork for Kitty’s future.

“If you’ve loved Kitty's adventures, you have been waiting for this book!” (Seanan McGuire, author of Come Tumbling Down and Every Heart a Doorway)
Interview with Carrie Vaughn about the Kitty Norville series
Q: I love the way that you took the standard view of the werewolf as the ultimate victim and turned it completely on its head with Kitty. Was that part of your original conception of the book?
“I wanted to tell the story of someone learning to stand up for herself and learning to be powerful. I didn’t want someone who was super powerful right out the gate.
“And I wrote about werewolves because I felt they kind of gotten short-changed over the last 100 years in storytelling. It’s always the beast within takes over, you can’t control yourself, you do horrible things, and then you die. And I thought let’s just get past that. Let’s assume that werewolves are okay and they can handle it and what stories can we tell then.
“And then taking the pack structure, which is another different thing that I wanted to bring to the werewolf story. And if you got someone who’s at the top of the pack and someone who’s at the bottom and it progressed naturally in the course of telling the story and developing the story and it wasn’t something I necessarily consciously set out to do.
“I really was just trying to tell this one person’s story and it got big very quickly and it got a lot bigger than I ever originally thought it would but it’s worked out very well. I’ve gotten a lot of feedback on that. It’s turned out to be, struck a chord, I think.”
—Carrie Vaughn Interview (Buzzy Mag)
Q: What inspired you to write the novel and series? And where do you draw your inspiration from in general?
“I realized that vampires and werewolves and other supernatural creatures living in the modern world would need their own advice shows, because Dr. Laura and Dr. Phil just wouldn’t know what to do with their problems. From that small beginning, the idea blew up, since Kitty and her show gave me a chance to write just about any kind of story I wanted, with lots of great supporting characters.
“As far as inspiration in general—everywhere, really. A piece of music, a piece of art, a news story. Not liking the way some other story or movie turns out and wanting to tell my own version. My own obsessions and demons.”
—Interview with CARRIE VAUGHN (Civilian Reader)
Q: How important is setting to you when writing a story or writing a book?
“It’s kind of deceptively important, because it’s not something I necessarily think about a lot. But it does end up anchoring the story. Initially, I wasn’t going to set it in a specific city. I wanted to have it in an unnamed city that could be any city, and my editor said, ‘No, you’ve really got to pick a city and have it be concrete.’
“I picked Denver because that was the most familiar, but on thinking about it, Denver’s the perfect city for this kind of story because you have the very urban setting where you can tell urban stories. You’re an hour away from the mountains where you can tell wilderness stories. I’ve got my werewolf characters who are both civilized and wild, and I can tell both those kinds of stories in the same setting.
“And I like going to other cities because it lets me tell other stories. I personally like traveling, so it’s in my nature to want to go to other places. But it also really opens up the kinds of stories I can tell. Las Vegas, especially. Making Las Vegas supernatural, I didn’t have to do any work. It’s already there.
“There actually is a production show based around vampires. It’s called Bite. You see the billboards on the trucks driving through town, and it’s topless vampires dancing on stage. If I had made that up, nobody would have believed me, but it’s actually there. Things like that really add to the world. It makes the world of the novel have that much more depth.”
