Godzilla Vs. Kong: “Legends Collide”

Producer Legendary Pictures recently offered a new synopsis for the upcoming epic Godzilla Vs. Kong: “Legends collide as Godzilla and Kong, the two most powerful forces of nature, clash on the big screen in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into fantastic uncharted terrain, unearthing clues to the Titans’ very origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.”

Following 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, there are a number of Toho giant monsters that could make an appearance in the new film (or a future installment). Longtime Godzilla ally Rodan survived that film and could reappear this time on Godzilla’s side. Mechagodzilla is likely to appear, as there’s a tie-in toy on the way. The post-credits scene suggests we might see Mecha-King Ghidorah. The use of the Oxygen Destroyer might lead to the reappearance of Destoroyah. And while Legendary did not have the rights to include Anguirus, a skeleton glimpsed in KOTM might be a hint that he’ll appear at some point. And since Mothra is always on a cycle of death and rebirth—it seems likely we haven’t seen the last of her, either.
