Part of new era in science fiction, fantasy, and horror comics

Legendary comics magazine Heavy Metal has promoted comic book veteran Joseph Illidge to the position of executive editor. Mr. Illidge’s comic book cred includes work at Milestone Comics and DC Comics, as well as more recently senior editor for Lion Forge Comics and executive editor for Valiant Entertainment. His new role will see him develop new content and creator relationships for the long-running brand, which launched in 1977 with the debut of the iconic Heavy Metal magazine.

“Working with the great team at Heavy Metal has been a bucket list experience,” Illidge told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s an honor to be part of a team paving the way for a new era as the true leader in sequential storytelling for science fiction, fantasy, and horror.”
