Lindsey Stirling Grinches it up for Christmas
“You’re a monster, Mr. Grinch, yes, you are…”
How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a Christmas children’s book by writer and illustrator Theodor Geisel—better known as Dr. Seuss. It stars a grouchy creature who attempts to cancel Christmas by stealing Christmas gifts and decorations from nearby homes. (Don’t worry, there’s a happy ending.)
In the 1966 animated TV special that adapted the book, the song “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” highlights the character’s dark disposition.

For “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” the lyrics were written by Dr. Seuss, the music was composed by Albert Hague, and the song was originally performed by Thurl Ravenscroft. (Contrary to popular belief, it was not sung by Boris Karloff, who narrated the special.)
The book has been adapted many times, including a film and a stage production. Several of those adaptations also used some version of this song.
