Stephen King’s ‘Jerusalem’s Lot,’ ‘Salem’s Lot’ Headed To Screens

This fall, Epix drama series Chapelwaite will be a 10-episode adaptation of Stephen King’s short story “Jerusalem’s Lot,” a prequel story for his novel ‘Salem’s Lot. Set in the 1850s, the series will star Adrian Brody and Emily Hampshire.

The story follows Captain Charles Boone, who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. (Of course, being based on a story by Stephen King, you know more stuff will happen.) The show is expected to debut Fall 2020. (SOURCE: Deadline)

Meanwhile, ‘Salem’s Lot is also being adapted for the big screen. Gary Dauberman will write the script for New Line Cinema’s film adaptation, which will be produced by James Wan, Roy Lee, and Mark Wolper. The film has not been given a release date yet.

King’s second published novel, Jerusalem’s Lot follows a man who returns to the town where he grew up, only to discover everyone is now a vampire. It was King’s first book to top the New York Times Bestseller list. (SOURCE: The Wrap)
