The X-Files: Behind-the-Scenes of the Classic Monster Investigator Show
“When I look back, there are so many memories from the show and so many important ones to me…”
Classic paranormal and sci-fi series The X-Files followed FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigating unsolved cases that had fallen through the cracks of normal investigations. These cases often involved weird events caused by supernatural or abnormal phenomena.
An investigative procedural show inspired by classic TV shows like Kolchak: The Night Stalker and The Twilight Zone, Mulder and Scully ran into lots of stuff. Aliens. Folktales. Urban legends. Vampires. Werewolves. Ghosts. And lots more.
The two main characters for the bulk of the series, Mulder was a conspiracy theorist who believed the weirdest, and Scully was a skeptic assigned to scientifically examine Mulder’s cases.
The show, created by Chris Carter, originally ran 1993-2002. There were bonus seasons in 2016 and 2018. There were also two movies in 1998 and 2008.
