Why were these ‘Twilight Zone’ episodes banned from reruns?

“You’re traveling through another dimension—a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind…”

Rod Serling’s anthology television series The Twilight Zone (1959-64) was not the only show of its kind in early television—but is easily the most powerful one. It has lasted in our collective memories for decades after similar TV series have gone away. The episodes waded through several related genres—including supernatural, fantasy, science fiction, suspense, horror, and more—regularly concluding with a surprise twist ending (often with a moral to the story). On the air for five seasons, many of its 150+ episodes have become part of the culture’s conversation.

But what few know is that four episodes of the show were withheld from reruns—including one episode banned from television 52 years! What were these episodes, and why weren’t they allowed to be seen again? The folks from RerunZone have your answers in the video below!

Twilight Zone: The LOST Episodes | Why Were These 4 Episodes Excluded From Syndication?

The Twilight Zone has been revisited by other media over the years, including multiple revival TV series. TV Guide ranked the original TV series #5 in their 2013 list of the 60 greatest shows of all time and #4 in their list of the 60 greatest dramas.
