D.M. Guay: Complete horror comedy series 24/7 DEMON MART
“I was laughing very early in the book….” (The Imaginary Realms of Gilbert M. Stack)
(Revised October 2023)
D.M. Guay’s 24/7 Demon Mart horror-comedy series is for fans of David Wong, Terry Pratchett, Tom Holt, Christopher Moore, and A. Lee Martinez. If you love Exorcist-level demon vomit, brooding Lovecraftian hell monsters, and plenty of laughs, these novels are for you. “Guay has a gift for the absurd and it really works.” (The Imaginary Realms of Gilbert M. Stack)
Guay explained to Marilyn Vix how her favorite paranormal author influences her own writing. “Charlaine Harris pulls off a level of detail and description in her characters and places that not a lot of authors can. When I’m stuck in one of my own stories, I read one of her novels, and instantly can get unstuck, back to the keyboard and writing again.”
DM Guay is a big geek, huge horror fan, and loves stand-up comedy. She mish-mashes her love of all that’s scary/gory/geeky/funny into stories about creeps and critters, ghouls and ghosts, and all of the unseemly things that go bump in the night. She loves Godzilla, tiki bars, liquid eyeliner, 24-hour horror movie festivals, and most of all, people who make art, despite adversity, no matter what life throws at them.
Guay has stage 4 kidney cancer, despite being young and having no risk factors. She donates some of her book profits to the Kidney Cancer Research Alliance.
She also runs “Monsters In Your Inbox,” a monthly round-up of B-horror movies, horror comedy books, and weird news. Sign up here: https://dmguay.wordpress.com.
In her interview with Monster Complex, author Guay explained her strategy writing horror comedy fiction: “I love horror. I love supernatural monsters. I love stories about normal people interacting with big, supernatural things, and I really love campy low budget B movies. My goal is to successfully mishmash all of that into book form, and then hope like hell it will make readers laugh. If people laugh, I have succeeded.”

24/7 Demon Mart (Main series)
The Graveyard Shift: A Horror Comedy (24/7 Demon Mart #1)
A devilishly funny novel for fans of horror comedy.
Lloyd Wallace is the most clueless crossing guard the intersection of hell and earth has ever seen. So clueless, that he doesn’t even realize the beer cave in the corner store where he works is the gateway to hell.
The gate needs a hero, but Lloyd’s a zero, a loser with a capital L. He’s ten thousand dollars in debt and lives with his parents. He’s been fired from every job he’s ever had. He was the first thing his ex-girlfriend tossed to the curb when she upgraded her life.
He had no money and no prospects until the night he accidentally slayed a one-eyed tentacle monster hellbent on world domination. And, impressed by his pure heart and bravery, the suave but devilish owner of the 24/7 Dairy Mart gave Lloyd a job.
His coworkers—a karate-chopping bombshell and a talking roach with a really bad attitude—need Lloyd’s help to keep the demons in line. Can he man up and become a world-saving hero? Or, will he remain a couch-surfing zero? The fate of the world is on the line.
24/7 Demon Mart is a new horror-comedy series for fans of David Wong, Terry Pratchett, Tom Holt, Christopher Moore, and A. Lee Martinez. If you love Exorcist-level demon vomit, brooding Lovecraftian hell monsters, and plenty of laughs, this novel is for you.

Monster Burger: A Zombie Horror Comedy (24/7 Demon Mart #2)
One loser, one karate-chopping bombshell, and one talking cockroach stand between YOU and the zombie apocalypse.
It’s business as usual at the 24/7 Demon Mart. Well, not exactly. The beer cave is still the portal to hell, but things haven’t been quite right since a handful of vengeful beasts from beyond nearly destroyed the store in their bid to unleash hell on earth.
Demon Mart has a serious pest problem. Shoddy construction has compromised the gate. Even the neighborhood is in flux, now that the Monster Burger across the street has a snooty new owner with a personal beef against the Demon Mart staff.
And Lloyd Wallace, one-time world-saving hero, is too scared to leave his house. He’s had a bit of trouble dealing with the fact that zombies are real (and a valued part of the Demon Mart team), blood-thirsty hell beasts are real, and that his boss is the devil. His guardian angel—who lives in a Magic 8-Ball—has had to resort to extreme measures to get Lloyd to leave the safety of his childhood bedroom, show up for work, and keep the promises he made to God.
When the store’s living dead staff get restless, and human customers start shuffling around, absolutely starving, ready to eat anything they can get their hands on, it’s clear 24/7 Demon Mart has a big problem. It’s ground zero for the zombie apocalypse.
It’s up to DeeDee, Lloyd, and Kevin to save the day—again. But Lloyd will have to conquer his crippling fear long enough to do his job. Can he man up and become a world-saving hero? Or, will he remain a couch-surfing zero? If they fail, Columbus, Ohio, could quickly turn into Zombie, Ohio. The fate of the world is on the line. What could go wrong?
Monster Burger is a zombie comedy for fans of Jesse Peterson (Living with the Dead), Andrew Stanek (You Are Undead), Scott Kenemore (Zombie, Ohio / Zen of Zombies), Jeff Strand (Sinister Mister Corpse), Diana Rowland (White Trash Zombie), and Shaun of the Dead.
It is the second book in the 24/7 Demon Mart series, a horror-comedy / humorous comic fantasy series.
Angel Trouble: A Grim Reaper Horror Comedy (24/7 Demon Mart #3)
The angel of death has officially fallen, and he’s crash-landed at 24/7 Demon Mart.
The grim reaper’s lost his job. He’s been stripped of his scythe and banned from reaping.
It doesn’t take long for DeeDee, Lloyd, and Kevin to figure out that living with the angel of death isn’t easy. Lost souls. Angry exes. Ancient curses. Will the grim reaper ever get his afterlife together? The outlook is not so good.
The reaper isn’t the only angel who’s out of sorts. Lloyd’s devilish boss Faust hasn't been the same since a tentacle monster spit him out of an alternate dimension, and his ex-girlfriend tried to start the zombie apocalypse. And Angel eight ball? He’s having a hell of a time juggling a terrible new boss and saving Lloyd from eternal damnation.
As unreaped souls stack up and the specter of death looms larger, what’s the Demon Mart crew to do? Find out in this grim reaper comedy.
Angel Trouble is book three in the 24/7 Demon Mart series, a humorous dark fantasy and horror-comedy book series for fans of Christopher Moore (Dirty Job), Dave Turner (How to be Dead), Jack Townsend (Tales from the Gas Station) and Rick Gualtieri (Bill the Vampire).
(Re) Possessed: A Sinfully Funny Horror Comedy (24/7 Demon Mart #4)
If humanity is to have any hope at all, the graveyard shift crew will have to battle their inner demons and sacrifice everything they want the most…
A mysterious red door has appeared inside 24/7 Demon Mart—but when Lloyd opens it and steps in, nothing happens. Nothing bad, at least. He finds a lost room filled with treasures so good, so perfect, it seems like the Demon Mart crew’s wishes have all come true.
Kevin finds the solution to his mid-afterlife crisis and his roommate problems. Faust finds a renewed interest in the carnal delights of earth. Lloyd, dead tired from fighting off angry poltergeists, finally gets the one thing he so desperately desires: A nap. DeeDee? Well, she’s just angry. Really, really angry.
But it’s fine—totally fine—until the protection spells at Doc’s pawnshop begin to unravel. And the Demon Mart gang becomes so consumed by their own appetites and desires, they don’t even notice the dark force awakening beneath them, a force so ancient and evil it could rip the world to shreds.
Will the the graveyard shift crew triumph? Or will the evil that lurks behind the red door rip them—and the world—apart?
(Re) Possessed is a demonic possession horror comedy. It is the fourth book in the 24/7 Demon Mart series, a humorous dark fantasy and horror-comedy book series for fans of Christopher Moore (Dirty Job), Dave Turner (How to be Dead), Jack Townsend (Tales from the Gas Station), A. Lee Martinez (Gil’s All Fright Diner), and Rick Gualtieri (Bill the Vampire).
Revenge of the Furballs: A vampire vs werewolf horror comedy (24/7 Demon Mart #5)
One loser, one talking cockroach, and one karate-chopping bombshell stand between YOU and a menacing army of...fat, adorable hamsters? Wait. Back up.
Lloyd Wallace has been through a lot these past few months. He’s stopped the zombie apocalypse, fought off demonic possession by the deadly sin of sloth, and helped the grim reaper get his job back. All he wants is to retreat to his oasis—Okay, so it's not an oasis. It's his childhood bedroom, in his parents' house, but still—to rest and recharge. Easy, right…?
Nope. First, he finds a mysterious hamster with a terrible attitude and sharp teeth in his closet. Then his manager—a salty, foul-mouthed hard-partying cockroach—moves in with him. When his employee manual takes over his beanbag, and his disgraced guardian angel hides from the Lord's wrath in the closet, it's clear Lloyd's room is no longer a peaceful sanctuary. It's become a crash pad for wayward supernatural creatures.
Things outside the house are even worse. 24/7 Demon Mart is infested with hamsters. Hungry vampires are attacking people on the street, unraveling the uneasy truce between the werewolves and vampires. If they can't convince their fanged and furry neighbors to kiss and make up, the 24/7 Demon Mart crew will be caught in the middle of a war.
Can Lloyd and the Demon Mart crew maintain the delicate balance that holds the magical community together? Or will the entire neighborhood—and Lloyd's life—fall apart? And where the hell are all these hamsters are coming from?
Find out in Revenge of the Furballs: 24/7 Demon Mart #5.
